So… What Actually Happens in a Body Impression Workshop?

Let’s be honest: the idea of rolling oil onto your skin and pressing yourself onto giant paper with a bunch of other women probably sounds a little mysterious & wild, doesn’t it?
You might be thinking—Do I have to get naked? Will it be awkward? Is this going to turn into some kind of slippery paint party?
(Short answer: nope. Long answer: keep reading.)
A Body Impression Workshop is basically part creative ritual, part messy playtime, part “holy shit, I didn’t know I needed that!”
You don’t need to bring confidence, an idea of what pose to do, or even a clue about art—you just bring you. I’ll guide you through the rest. And because it’s a group workshop, you quickly realise you’re not the only one who’s ever felt a little wobbly about their body.
It’s actually really powerful seeing other women show up for themselves, and it makes the whole thing feel supportive, liberating, and often full of laughter.
First things first…
We meet at the Workshop location (tea, coffee and a bit of a natter included). We start gently, everyone has a warm drink, gets to know each other, and I share a little about my journey. It’s always relaxed and warm, like settling into a really good book club… but with bigger paper.
The demo
I kick things off by doing an impression myself, so you can see exactly how it works. The process is tactile and calming: a little oil is applied to the body, we press onto paper, and then we bring the impression up with rich, vibrant paint pigment. It’s like watching a photograph develop...your body taking shape in a whole new way.
You have a go
We ease in with smaller pieces of paper - hands, arms, feet. This gets you comfortable with the method before moving on to the bigger A1 sheets (which also happen to be perfect for framing later).
The impressions
Here’s where it gets juicy. You create your larger body impressions in whatever way feels right for you. Some women stay in leggings or yoga gear, some strip down to underwear, some go nude—there’s never any pressure. It’s 100% your comfort level & im here to support a guide you every step of the way!
What I’ve seen time and again is how quickly the group vibe helps everyone relax. Once you realise you’re surrounded by women who get it—who just want to feel good in their own skin, you start to surprise yourself.
The vibe
Workshops are empowering, a little messy (in the fun way), and deeply nourishing. You’ll leave with:
Your own body impression artwork on gorgeous A1 paper.
A sense of pride and connection with your body.
The joy of having shared something meaningful with other brilliant women.
Adding the sparkle ✨
Want to go extra? You can choose to have gold leaf detailing added to your impression. This works beautifully with lace or patterned underwear, as the textures come through in the artwork. Gold leaf is £65 per impression, and I’ll finish it for you within 7 days, ready to collect or have posted (postage & Packaging is £10 extra)
Not sure about a group workshop? 💭
If the idea of a workshop feels a little overwhelming, or you’re just not quite ready to be around other women while trying this for the first time — I also offer one-to-one Body Impression Sessions.
These take place at my home in a very comfortable, private environment or are your location if that is preferred. You’ll have the option of using either the oil pigment method or the paint method, and because I have shower facilities here, you can leave feeling fresh and clean afterwards.
A one-to-one session lasts 2–2.5 hours. We work on a large cartridge roll, creating your impressions together. If you choose the paint method, we’ll sit and mix colours until they feel right for you, then apply and press your impressions. Afterwards, I can cut them down to A1 format for easy framing, or leave them larger if you’d prefer. It’s very flexible, very personal — a true deep-dive experience.
These sessions are £250, and they’re such a beautiful way to connect with yourself in a more private, nurturing setting.
FAQs
Do I have to get naked?
Only if you want to. Impressions work beautifully with underwear or light clothing too. Comfort first, always.
What if I feel shy?
Totally normal. Most women do at the start—but the group energy is magic. By the end, you’ll probably surprise yourself.
Will I get messy?
Not really. The oil wipes off easily, and the pigment stays on the paper—not on you. You’ll leave looking more “arty Sunday workshop” than “paint fight.”
What size are the artworks?
We work on A1 paper, which makes it easy to frame afterwards. Ikea is great for ready made frames - It have also had great experience with purchasing frames online at this size.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself, and towel and a robe - and maybe a favourite set of underwear (LACE OR NOT) if you’re tempted by gold leaf. Everything else is provided!
If you’ve ever wanted to reconnect with your body, feel braver and freer, and create something beautiful in the process, a Body Impression Workshop might be just what you need!
